Actual Customer Feedback

“Ive been using it for 4 nights, and not a noticeable improvement. its helping a little but not much. I only use it at night because the site says once a day. Right now I’m using it a night and just having water hit my face in the shower in the morning. It is a bit drying but I’m afraid that using a moisturizer will hurt the medication” Ryan10, portion taken from acne.org website

” I started using Pronexin a couple of days ago and I can already see the difference. The skin is soft, acne is disappearing”. Ivana Djordjevic, portion taken from pronexin website

“Wow so do NOOOOOT trust this product! I think it looked like it was going to work very well, but all the sites that have it are clearly all lying :S there’s very little info on the company and it says it has a 99% success rate, which is complete bullshit. it DOES NOT work! i normally use proactiv, which used to work amazingly for me but has stopped working, but only when i switched to this did i realize just how much proactiv still helped me b/c i’ve NEVER EVER had as much acne as i got using this stuff! i couldn’t even believe myself when i looked in the mirror. so do NOT trust it. at the very least, the company did give me a refund, but it’s clear that they’re lying and this product is not to be trusted.” Megz, portion taken from acne.org website

Conclusion

This product has natural ingredients so can be beneficial for your skin. Perhaps this product is better suited to minor acne sufferers. Severe acne sufferers may benefit from using other products.

Overview

OxyCerin is a acne treatment in the form of a serum. OxyCerin uses tea tree oil as an alternative acne treatment to the common acne fighting ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide, which is found in many acne treatments. Tea tree oil has been found to be as effective as benzoyl peroxide in treating acne in a variety of studies. The product works by removing toxins from the pores of the skin and removing blackheads. The serum then works to close pores to prevent future breakouts.

Ingredients

5% Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, White Willow, Licorice Root and Hyaluronic acid.

Price

$129.99 but can be available at sale price $29.99 plus $7.50 postage and handling.

Positives

Not too many adverse side effects

60 day money back guarantee

Negatives

May not be strong enough for severe acne

No strong acne fighting ingredients such as salicylic acid

Expensive

Actual Customer Feedback

“It cleared my skin but after six weeks my acne returned” S.K, London

“Didn’t work for me” Joe, Vancouver

“This product made my skin feel and look smoother but did not make all my acne go away” Tom from Texas

Conclusion

This product has good properties but it may not be the most effective treatment on the market.

Positives

90 day money back guarantee

Nutrients and vitamins in product can give the skin and body a glow

Not very many side effects

Negatives

May take a long time to see results

May not treat severe acne effectively, as reported in customer feedback

Expensive treatment

May not have long lasting results, according to customer feedback

Actual Customer Feedback
“It removed my acne for about two weeks and then returned”. Jane W, London

“Acnepril cleared most of my skin, although i still tend to have breakouts now and then”. Kate Mills, South Australia

“This did not work at all for me!!! Waste of my money!”. J.Kyle Canada

Conclusion

Acnepril is probably a better alternative than harsh oral drugs like acctuane, due to its natural properties but considering the diverse customer feedback it might not be the most effective to treat severe acne. We have our own no 1 recommended product but if you are thinking of using acctuane we suggest you try our recommended product or Acnepril first.

Overview

Differin is an acne treatment system that is formulated to work from the inside out to treat acne. Differin has three types of products which can be used to treat acne, two gels, with different strengths and a cream. Differin is made to work underneath the skin by absorbing into the skin and normalising skin cells. Differin is applied by placing a thin layer of the product on the skin at night.

Ingredients

Adapalene – This is a retinoid compound

Price

The price differs for each Differin product that is prescribed. Prices range from $70 – $400. If a patient has medical insurance the price will be less.

Positives

Helps skin to renew itself

If it works for the acne suffer results can last for a significant amount of time

Negatives

Prescription only

The product may cause dryness, erythema, burning or pruritus. This has even been highlighted on the package of Differin gels

Expensive

May cause redness and irritation on the skin

May cause skin discomfort and sensitivity to the sun

Actual Customer Feedback

“I tried the cream, because I thought that would help my skin not to get so irritated or suffer side effects. It was just as bad, and I ended up having to stop because it had gotten so bad after my first week”. Maya, portion from Differinreview.net

“Differin takes a long time to work. During that time, I experienced more breakouts. It does eventually get better. But it can take a few months, and your skin also gets really red and itchy. It’s almost worse than the acne, or for me it might actually be worse without question”. Sarah James, portion from Differinreview.net

“I used it for two months and all it did was make my skin red, dry and itchy”. Stefan, Sydney

Conclusion

Differin is a prescription only acne treatment that can improve the skin but may not have lasting effects on your acne. Talk to your doctor about the potential side effects if you get prescribed Differin.

It is marketed as similar to the Proactiv treatment system but using natural based products. This product is supposed to operate and produce results within 14 days of using the products. The product is marketed as all natural and excludes the product benzoyl peroxide. Acjuva is made to clear acne and prevent future breakouts without using harsh chemcials.

Ingredients

Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, White Willow, Vegetable Glycerin, Lemongrass Oil, Redmond Clay, Hydronium, Calendula, Comfrey, Green Tea, Licorice Root, Chamomile, DMAE, Lavender and Honey.

Price

$79.95 for a four month supply – Can find Acjuva on offer for $39.95

Positives

Money back guarantee

No autoship program

All natural products, anti inflammotry ingredients help to reduce swelling of acne

Negatives

Natural products may not be strong enough for moderate to severe acne based on customer feedback

Price a bit expensive for the amount provided

Does not contain benzoyl peroxide which is known as an effective acne fighting ingredient

Actual Customer Feedback

“It worked for a while for me but my acne soon returned” Sonny, WA Australia

“It worked OK for me. It really is gentle, but I found it to be a little weak. With my luck, I probably got a bad bottle or something. I am going to try it again, just in case. People seem to love it, so I really hope it works. The shipping took about 5 days, which was a little dissapointing. The cs was above average. I got an e-mail letteing me know the product was shipped and they even gave me a tracking number. Good company. OK product so far. Hoping the next batch will be better”. Anon (portion from Acjuva.net)

“Didn’t work for me. Just contacted company for a refund. S&H will nit be refunded. I should have read the FAQs. Acjuva worked a little bit better than neutrogena or clearsil, but that’s not saying much. I really loved the lotion. I wish I could buy bottles separately. My grade is a B-, but I will up to a B+ once I’m refunded”. (portion from Acjuva.net)

Conclusion

If you are suffering from acne, and you would like a natural treatment Acjuva can be a solution. The natural based products might be soft on sensitive skin but may not suit all acne types and severities. Acjuva is probably better than some other acne treatments in that its all natural products are better for the body but it is not our top recommendation.

Overview

Zeno is a unique acne treatment consisting of a thermal acne cleaning device. This device treats existing pimples by treating acne with heat as the device is held to the face. The product is best suited for mild or moderate acne by heating the skin for around two minutes. The skin is red for around 20 minutes after treatment.

Price

$149 – $200

Positives

Has been shown to improve the appearance of acne

Does not prevent future breakouts

Only treats existing acne

May cause redness

Not suitable for severe acne sufferers

Actual Customer Feedback

I use Zeno whenever I feel the occasional pimple coming on. As long as you catch it in the first couple of days, Zeno works perfectly. It leaves a red mark for 30 minutes or so, but one or two zaps the night before and the next morning is more than enough to stop the pimple from forming. It gets hot, but I don’t find it painful at all B Injasoulian (portion from Amazon.com)

When I started using Zeno it worked great. After the first time I charged it something happened and the alarm signal did not go off in time. I was burned very badly on my face. It blistered and is scarred. I would definitely be careful. (A Mateo De Acosta, Jupiter USA, portion from Amazon.com)

Conclusion

This product is definitely novel but from customer feedback it seems it may cause redness and pimples may reappear. As the product is quite expensive we believe there are more effective, cost efficient products available.

Actual Customer Feedback

Only been using for 2 weeks. Trying to keep hope alive. Been suffering with acne for 10 yrs. I use triaz wipe morning & nite; benzaclin in the morning & tazorac @ nite. Maybe expecting results to soon considering my skins condition. Anyone else experience this issue. My face is super oily day and night. My doc said he wanted to dry skin out because of oiliness but has only gotten worse the oil that is can’t tell if acne drying up bc of oil. TK, Indianapolis from acne.org

I ultimately had much worse acne from using it. It works for a while, but if you don’t use it for even one day, your skin breaks out. It’s like it depends on it so you’re stuck using it forever or not at all. I started using it about 5 months ago, and it stopped working pretty quickly. So I would stop, then start using it again… Recently, it made my skin so incredibly dry that I stopped using it for a week or so. My skin was actually pretty clear, but there were a few pimples so I decided to use it again, and BAM everything came back. It’s worth a try if you have SEVERE acne. Otherwise, don’t bother. I had to pay $60 each month for it and it wasn’t worth the price for me. Ali, West Chester from acne.org

Conclusion

The side effects that may occur with the use of Benzaclin may not be worth the risk of the positive aspects of the medication. Its best to speak to your doctor but this prescription acne treatment is not our top recommendation.
